Are you unsure which therapy is right for you?
Read a simple guide and find a good place to start →
Choosing the right therapy is an individual process that depends on your challenges, your situation, and what you want to work on. Therefore, it is completely normal to be unsure about which therapy and form of therapy is best for you. You don't need to know the difference between Somatic Experiencing, IFS therapy, individual psychotherapy, and body therapy before you get in touch. The most important thing is that you feel you need support. Together, we will find the approach that best suits you, your nervous system, and your current situation.
It often makes the most sense to combine methods so that your body, emotions, and reaction patterns are all addressed in the same process. You can start somewhere with a choice—and along the way, we will find the process that is most helpful for you. You are always welcome to contact us if you are in doubt. You don't have to choose "right" from the start – together we will find the approach and process that best suits you and your needs.
That said, the guide below can give you an initial point of reference – if you need a place to start your considerations.
Choose therapy based on your symptoms
Restlessness in the body, inner alarm readiness, or stress → Somatic Experiencing (SE)
Somatic Experiencing is suitable if you experience restlessness in your body, inner alarm, stress, or reactions after stressful experiences or trauma. This involves working with regulating the nervous system so that the body can find peace and security again.
Internal conflicts, low self-esteem, or self-criticism → IFS therapy
IFS therapy is suitable if you experience inner conflicts, low self-esteem, self-criticism, or reactions that keep repeating themselves in relationships. Here, we work with inner parts and old wounds (inner child) so that more peace, understanding, and self-care can arise.
Need for conversation, overview, and understanding → Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is suitable if you need conversation, reflection, and emotional support. It works with your reaction patterns, relationships, life crises, anxiety, and stress—with a focus on insight, understanding, and change.
Tension and pain in the neck, shoulders, or jaw → Body therapy
Body therapy is suitable if you experience tension in your neck, shoulders, or jaws, physical restlessness, or difficulty feeling your body. This therapy works to release tension and regulate the body so that the nervous system can calm down.
